59 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for the Environment the approximate cost of minimising the extensive leakage which now takes place in the water supply system to Dublin city. [1512/96]

60 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for the Environment the plans, if any, he has to publish the report on the water supply to the greater Dublin area. [1513/96]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 59 and 60 together.

Work on the Dublin Region Water Supply Strategic Study, which includes proposals for an extensive leakage reduction programme, is nearing completion. I intend to make an announcement in relation to the study and its associated proposals in the near future.
