98 Éamon Ó Cuív asked the Minister for the Marine whether he has an application for funding for the repair of Doonloughane Pier, near Bally-conneely, County Galway; if so, when a decision will be given regarding this application; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1535/96]

I can advise that an application for funding for repair of Doonloughane Pier has not been received in my Department. The Department does not in any event fund repair works at local authority piers, and repair and maintenance of Doonloughane Pier is, therefore, a matter for Galway County Council.
