Question:

97 Mr. Kirk asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications the number of nuclear plants in each of the EU member states; the percentage of total energy requirement for each member state these plants represent; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1544/96]

Ireland, Greece, Portugal, Luxembourg, Austria, Italy and Denmark have no operational nuclear power reactors. The information requested by the Deputy in relation to the remaining member states, as provided by the International Atomic Energy Agency in 1995, is as follows:
