Vol. 461 No. 5

Written Answers. - Dental Surgery Payment.

Jim Mitchell

Question:

72 Mr. J. Mitchell asked the Minister for Health who will pay for the treatment of a 12 year old girl (details supplied) in Dublin 8 who requires major dental surgery including the removal of upper wisdom teeth which will require three days in hospital where there is no GMS card and where the parent is just outside the GMS guidelines; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3247/96]

Limerick East): As this girl resides in the Dublin area the question of her eligibility under the Health Acts for the dental treatment identified by the Deputy is a matter for examination by the Eastern Health Board in the first instance.

Accordingly, I have asked the chief executive officer of the Eastern Health Board to examine the matter urgently and to reply directly to the Deputy.
