Vol. 461 No. 5

Written Answers. - Departmental Staff.

Ivor Callely

Question:

77 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Equality and Law Reform the current number of personnel working in his ministerial offices and the office of his Minister(s) of State; the number of personnel that have been seconded or employed on a non-established contract basis; the competition process for filling such positions; the advertisements, if any, made regarding these appointments; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3298/96]

A total of nine established civil servants are employed in the general ministerial office and the constituency office of my Department. A further four non-established contract staff are also employed in these offices. I nominated the latter for appointment to their respective posts, none of which were publicly advertised. There is no Minister of State in my Department.
