Vol. 461 No. 5

Written Answers. - National Lottery.

Theresa Ahearn

Question:

93 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht what grants, if any, were made available to South Tipperary from his Department in each of the years from 1993 to 1996; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3360/96]

The Deputy will be aware that the activities of my Department covers a very wide spectrum. However, in so far as it can be ascertained, only grants which were financed from the proceeds of the national lottery have been made available in South Tipperary since 1993. In this regard, I would refer the Deputy to my reply to Question No. 109 of 13 February 1996 in which I outlined the position regarding projects which benefited from national lottery funding in the areas of arts and culture, heritage and the Irish language during the years 1987 to 1995. No such funding has been made available to projects in South Tipperary in the current year to date.
