98 Mr. B. Smith asked the Minister for the Environment when he will approve the preliminary report in respect of Redhills sewerage scheme, County Cavan, in view of the urgent need to provide this scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3330/96]
An application for the Erne catchment water management scheme, which includes the Redhills sewerage scheme, has been submitted to the European Commission for Cohesion Fund assistance. Pending the Commission's decision, and having regard to the existing level of commitments under the water and sewerage programme, I cannot say when it may be possible to advance this scheme.
