County Westmeath Vocational Education Committee applied for capital funding for major accommodation improvements at the school.
My Department carried out a detailed review of all options regarding the school in terms of enrolment, future viability and cost implications. The outcome of this review confirms the long-term need for the school.
The question of developing satisfactory accommodation is currently being examined by the planning and building unit of my Department.
