Vol. 461 No. 6

Written Answers. - FEOGA Receipts.

Desmond J. O'Malley

Question:

161 Mr. O'Malley asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the cumulative shortfall in FEOGA receipts which fall to be met by the Exchequer or otherwise for each of the years ending 31 December 1994 and 1995 for which the last published figure was £246.9 million on 31 December 1993. [3400/96]

I presume the Deputy is referring to the cumulative losses arising from the operation of the intervention system and from the financing costs of FEOGA guarantee expenditure in Ireland since 1973.

The relevant cumulative figures are as follows:—

For year ending 31 December 1994

For year ending 31 December 1995

£m

£m

239.8

242.8
