Vol. 462 No. 2

Written Answers. - Disqualification of Company Directors.

Willie O'Dea

Question:

235 Mr. O'Dea asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment the number of company directors who have been restricted and disqualified under the terms of the Companies Act, 1990. [4470/96]

To date, 72 persons have been restricted under section 150 of the Companies Act, 1990. They have been restricted for the mandatory period of five years from acting as a director or secretary of a company, unless the paid-up share capital of the company is at least £20,000 or, in the case of a public limited company, £100,000.

Under section 160 of the same Act, one director has been disqualified for four years.

Details of those persons who have been restricted or disqualified under the provisions of the Companies Act, 1990 have been published in Iris Oifigiúil and are in the Companies Report “Green Book”, the latest of which relates to the period July 1993 to December 1994.
