Vol. 462 No. 5

Written Answers. - Remedial Teacher for County Westmeath School.

Mary O'Rourke

Question:

170 Mrs. O'Rourke asked the Minister for Education if she will review the need for a remedial teacher for a school (details supplied) in County Westmeath in view of the fact that this is a growing school with the most enthusiastic pupil enrolment and parent involvement and it is willing to share its remedial teacher with another two schools to make up the recommended number of pupils necessary. [4848/96]

I am not in a position at present to make a remedial teacher post available to the school referred to by the Deputy. When I am in a position to extend the remediation service, the school in question will receive every consideration.
