Vol. 462 No. 8

Written Answers. - Remedial Teacher Appointments.

Máire Geoghegan-Quinn

Question:

155 Mrs. Geoghegan-Quinn asked the Minister for Education when she intends to have a remedial teacher appointed to a school (details supplied) in County Galway. [5469/96]

Mary Harney

Question:

179 Miss Harney asked the Minister for Education the plans, if any, she has to sanction the appointment of a remedial teacher for a school (details supplied) in County Kildare; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [5579/96]

I propose to take Questions No. 155 and 179 together.

I am not in a position at present to make remedial teacher posts available to the schools referred to by the Deputies.

When I am in a position to extend the remediation service, the schools in question will be given every consideration.
