Vol. 463 No. 6

Written Answers. - Departmental Free Phone Service.

Ivor Callely

Question:

100 Mr. Callely asked the Taoiseach if he will consider making a free phone service available to the general public who require to make contact with his Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6956/96]

There are no plans at present to make a free phone service available to members of the public who require to make contact with my Department. However, the provision of local call access on a countrywide basis is currently being considered by an interdepartmental expert group chaired by the Department of Finance.
