Question:

93 Mr. J. Walsh asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the total expenditure under the butter voucher scheme in 1995; the value of each voucher; and the volume of butter subsidised. [7273/96]

Expenditure on the butter voucher scheme was £9 million in 1995. This represents a subsidy on 7,600 tonnes of butter. From 1 January to 30 June 1995 each voucher was worth 51p and since 1 July it is worth 52p off the price of one pound of butter.
