Question:

57 Mr. M. McDowell asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs the total cost of the publication of the recent White Paper on Foreign Policy; the cost of design, editing, origination, photographs and copyright costs of the White Paper; the cost of printing the White Paper; the number printed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The total cost of publications of the White Paper is estimated at £54,159. This figure is made up as follows:

Eight thousand copies of the White Paper were printed. Copies have been distributed to all Members of the Oireachtas and Irish Members of the European Parliament; to second and third level educational institutions, public libraries, local authorities, nongovernmental organisations and the media in Ireland; to foreign governments and opinion formers; and to international organisations. The White Paper is on sale at the Government Publications Sale Office in Molesworth Street. To ensure the widest possible dissemination of the White Paper, arrangements are also being made to offer it for sale more widely through bookshops in Ireland.
