141 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the cost of pesticide residue monitoring, such as the pesticide residue laboratory at Abbotstown, County Dublin, in 1995; and the projected cost for 1996. [7906/96]
Pesticide residues monitoring is an integrated part of the pesticides controls operated by my Department's pesticide control service. Separate accounting is not kept for the residues monitoring side. A rough estimate of the costs attributed to this element of the service in 1995 was £300,000. For 1996 the comparative costs are estimated to be £330,000.
