59 Mr. Molloy asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if any assistant secretary within his Department has sole and exclusive responsibility for food; the number of personnel in the food division of his Department at the grades of principal officer, assistant principal and administrative officer; the total number of personnel at other grades who work exclusively in the food division; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry (Mr. Yates)

The Assistent Secretary responsible for the food division of my Department has responsibility for one other area as well. The personnel who work exclusively in the food division are as follows:

Principal Officer	1
Assistant Principal Officer	2
Higher Executive Officer	4
Other Grades	9

These figures relate to the food division, but in practice most of the other divisions in the Department carry out activities which relate to the development, support and regulation of the food industry.
