Vol. 464 No. 3

Written Answers. - Semi-State Criticism.

Ivor Callely

Question:

137 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the semi-State sector has been subjected to criticism and innuendo in the recent past; the reaction of his Department to his criticism; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7986/96]

I am unaware of the criticism and innuendo referred to in the Deputy's question. I am satisfied, in fact, that, in response to the strategy I have put in place, the companies operating in the semi-State sector are rapidly becoming more vibrant and successful.
