84 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Education when the list for role plays for the oral French leaving certificate examination in 1997 will be made available in view of the fact that it was promised by her Department in 1995 that the list would be made available two years in advance of the 1997 examination. My Department will issue a set of five role-play situations to schools before the end of the present school term.
Schools will have the option of submitting all their candidates taking leaving certificate French in 1997 and 1998 for oral assessment and performing one of these role-plays as part of their oral examination.
85 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Education when the sample exam papers in the new French course for the 1997 leaving certificate will be made available in view of the fact that they were promised in February 1996. [8269/96]
Sample papers for the revised examination formats for leaving certificate French, higher and ordinary levels, will be issued by my Department before the end of the present school term. The Cloze-type tests will no longer form a part of either examination. In the written production sections, candidates will have a greater degree of choice.
