Written Answers. - Women Working in the Home.

Kathleen Lynch

Question:

8 Kathleen Lynch asked the Minister for Equality and Law Reform the plans, if any, he has to conduct a formal study into the needs of women who choose to work in the home; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8915/96]

My Department has monitored the situation regarding the needs of women in the home in the context of preparing the second progress report of the monitoring committee on the implementation of the recommendations of the Second Commission on the Status of Women. That report outlines the progress which has been made in relation to implementation of the commission's recommendations. I will continute to monitor the situation in this regard.
