Vol. 464 No. 8

Written Answers. - Rathfarnham (Dublin) Village Plan.

Seamus Brennan

Question:

38 Mr. S. Brennan asked the Minister for the Environment the applications, if any, received by his Department from South Dublin County Council for the balance of funding to complete the Rathfarnham Village plan; the total amount allocated in respect of this plan to date; the total balance due; the time frame for payment of the balance; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8945/96]

Grants totalling £146,700 were paid under the Dublin transportation traffic management grants scheme in 1994 and 1995 to South Dublin County Council for the Rathfarnham village traffic plan. Grants totalling £170,000 were allocated in those years but could not be paid in full as the relevant works had not been completed.

The grants scheme is now administered by the Dublin Transportation Office and applications for grants are no longer processed by my Department. Applications for 1996 and subsequent years should be sent directly by the local authorities to that office.
