179 Miss Coughlan asked the Minister for Social Welfare the reason he did not increase the student summer jobs scheme allowance in 1996; if he will now reconsider his decision to disallow the additional allowance of £200 which was paid in 1995 to students whose parents were solely relying on State benefit as a source of income; his views on whether the removal of this allowance will cause additional hardship on families; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
