Vol. 465 No. 3

Written Answers. - Charity Collections Correspondence.

Mary Harney

Question:

183 Miss Harney asked the Minister for Justice the reason a person (details supplied) in Dublin 22 has received no further correspondence to his letter regarding charity collections in view of the fact that he received an acknowledgement dated the 25 January 1995; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [9448/96]

Correspondence on behalf of the person concerned was originally received from a public representative on 5 September 1994 and was replied to on 30 September 1994.

A further letter in this regard was received and acknowledged on 25 January 1995. The contents of this letter necessitated a report from the Garda Síochána in relation to the operation of a named chairty in a particular area. This report was received from the Gardaí some time ago but, unfortunately, due to an oversight, did not result in a reply issuing to the individual concerned. A reply has now been issued.
