Vol. 465 No. 3

Written Answers. - Moate (Westmeath) Community School.

Mary Harney

Question:

49 Miss Harney asked the Minister for Education whether the selected site of the proposed community school in Moate, County Westmeath has been assessed in respect of accessibility for the disabled; if so, the outcome of this assessment; and whether an alternative site will be considered if the original site proves unsuitable. [9574/96]

I am pleased to inform the Deputy that a full and detailed assessment has taken place on the site of the new community school in Moate with a view to addressing the issue of access for the disabled. The examination has shown that the site can be suitably adapted to cater for the needs of the disabled. My Department's intention is that measures will be put in place to improve accessability significantly by September 1996.
