120 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for the Environment the legislative proposals, if any, he intends to introduce in relation to providing safety belts in school buses; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9657/96]

I refer to the reply to Questions Nos. 92, 102 and 105 of 1 June 1995 which set out the position in relation to this matter. The European Commission have yet to bring forward the proposals referred to in that reply.
