112 Mr. O'Leary asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht the extent of the Preservation Order placed on the old church ruin in Kilcummin Graveyard near Killarney. County Kerry by the Office of Public Works; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9915/96]
The site was entered in the register of Historic Monuments in accordance with subsection 2 of section 5 of the National Monuments (Amendment) Act, 1987, on 22 February 1994 and as such is protected under that Act. This stipulates that the owner must give two months notice of any work affecting the monument to me as Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht, and interference with the monument by any person is prohibited.
