145 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Justice the progress, if any, that has been made by the working group to examine incidents of assaults, robberies, larcenies and damage to Dublin Bus drivers; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [9855/96]
The working group established by me in November 1995 to consider the problem of assaults on bus drivers and other related matters has concluded its work and completed a report. It contains a number of recommendations on practical measures that can be taken to reduce such incidents and also identifies longer-term policy and legislative measures that might be considered in addressing the problem. I am, at present, reviewing the report.
