Vol. 465 No. 6

Written Answers. - Templeogue (Dublin) School.

Mary Harney

Question:

178 Miss Harney asked the Minister for Education the reason commencement of the promised physical education facilities at St. MacDara's Community College, Templeogue, Dublin 6W will not proceed for at least another 15 months; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [10070/96]

The present position is that the architectural planning is proceeding and County Dublin vocational education committee have been requested to submit the outline sketch scheme for the project (stage 2). When the scheme has been found to be satisfactory the project will be progressed to the next stages of planning. Further stages of planning to be completed by the vocational education committee's design team include developed sketch scheme, detail design, the preparation of a bill of quantities and the invitation of tenders.

At this early stage, I am not in a position to indicate precisely when construction will commence.
