Vol. 465 No. 8

Written Answers. - Veterinary Inspection Fees.

Denis Foley

Question:

50 Mr. Foley asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry whether arrears of pre-April 1985 veterinary inspection fees in respect of pigmeat plants are outstanding; and if he will confirm payment of such arrears in each of the years from 1993 to 1995. [10612/96]

Arrears of pre-April 1985 veterinary inspection fees are outstanding.

Two payments were received in the period in question. An amount of £11,548.65 was paid in 1993 and £2,799.90 was paid in 1994. My Department is consulting the Attorney General's office about the legal options in regard to recovering the outstanding amounts.
