Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 20 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Éamon Ó Cuív — an gá atá ann go gcuirfear áise anna breise ar fáil ag Scoil Chuimsitheach Chiaráin ar an gCeathrú Rua, Contae na Gaillimhe, agus freisin go ndéanfar an scoil a athchóiriú go hiomlán, lena chur in oiri úint don líon scoláirí atá ag freastal ar an scoil seo anois; (2) Deputy Joe Walsh — the need for the Minister for Education to have arrangements made for an architect to visit a school (details supplied) in County Cork so that an assessment can be made of the dangerous condition of the school and an immediate programme of necessary improvements can be put in train; (3) Deputy Broughan — the need to re-examine the provision of resources for orthodontic dental care on the north side of Dublin; (4) Deputy Eric Byrne — the need to ensure that sentencing policy is consistent in view of a recent case in which an individual convicted of stealing goods with a total value of £31 was sentenced to five years in prison; (5) Kathleen Lynch — the effects on the work of FÁS community employment schemes of recent changes in the eligibility criteria for such schemes with particular reference to the many arts-based schemes currently in operation and the effects on the employment prospects of those working in the arts; (6) Deputy Nealon — the need to protect the rights of fishermen on Lough Arrow, County Sligo, in view of the difficulties being created as a result of the closure of a traditional access point for boats at Ballyrush Bridge; (7) Deputy McDaid — the need for the appointment by September 1996 of an assistant remedial teacher at Woodland national school, Letterkenny, County Donegal; (8) Deputy Ring — the need to move a person (details supplied) from a hospital in Cork to Áras Attracts, Swinford, County Mayo; (9) Deputy Kirk — the need to re-examine area aid applications with errors in view of the serious income crisis in the beef sector; (10) Deputy Frances Fitzgerald — the recent death of a young woman in Mountjoy Prison; (11) Deputy Dukes — the provision of medical services to families of serving members of the Permanent Defence Forces at the Curragh Hospital, Curragh, County Kildare; (12) Deputy de Valera — the crisis facing dairy farmers in County Clare due to the superlevy fine; (13) Deputy Batt O'Keeffe — the action which the Minister for Health will take in view of the fact that no emergency facilities to manage a major nuclear or chemical accident exist at Cork University Hospital even though this hospital is designated as a national centre for dealing with such a crisis; (14) Deputy Quill — the need for a central register for charity collectors particularly in view of a recent case (details Supplied) in which money collected has not been accounted for and (15) Deputy Killeen — the need to take action to avert threatening strike action at Kilrush community school, County Clare on Wednesday, 29 May 1996.

The matters raised by Deputies McDaid, Killeen, Kirk and de Valera have been selected for discussion.
