Question:

213 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the payments to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick in November 1993 and November 1994 in respect of cows, in-calf heifers, bulls, weanling heifers, calves and pedigree animals; the total number of each category; the total payments made; and if he will make a statement on the matter. There were no payments made to this person in November, 1993.
However in relation to the disease breakdown referred to above, a sum of £77,155 was also paid to the person named in March 1995 arising from the retrospective application of increased reactor/depopulation grant rates to herds where animals were removed prior to 1 January 1994 but which remained restricted after 1 January 1994.
