29 Ms Keogh asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications whether the proposed institutions' percentage of the ESAT Digifone Consortium is 20 per cent or 25 per cent; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10860/96]
The percentage of ESAT Digifone held by the Irish Investment Company, IIU Nominees Limited is 20 per cent. The original application was made by a consortium which was owned in equal shares by Telenor Invest A/S and Communicorp Group Limited. They disclosed in the application that if they won the competition they would arrange a private placement of 20 per cent and each of the original partners would go to 40 per cent. This placement was completed ahead of signature of the licence.
