Question:

176 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Education whether a purchase price has been agreed in respect of the old Christian Brothers School in Youghal, County Cork in view of the decision to house Scoil Choráin in that property; whether teaching posts and a works programme at the Presentation School have been finalised; and when the Christian Brothers school will be available to Scoil Choráin. [11482/96]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 157 and 176 together.

My Department has recently agreed a purchase price in respect of the old Christian Brothers School in Youghal, County Cork. Satisfactory staffing arrangements for the new school have been finalised. The proposed building works are currently at document preparation stage and work is expected to commence during the school's summer holidays.

I am not yet in a position to give a firm date as to when the Christian Brother's school will be available to Scoil Choráin.
