Vol. 466 No. 5

Written Answers. - Dundalk (Louth) Housing.

Dermot Ahern

Question:

100 Mr. D. Ahern asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the reduction in the total cost of the proposed 24 houses at Cullane Street/O'Hanlon Park, Dundalk, County Louth from £1,384,625, a cost per house of £57,500, to £1,310,910, a cost per house of £54,621; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11794/96]

The approved budget cost of £1,384,625 for the 24 house scheme at Culhane Street/O'Hanlon Park, Dundalk, which was notified to Dundalk Urban District Council on 17 November 1995, was based on estimated costings for the scheme. The revised approved budget cost of £1,310,910, notified to the council on 8 March 1996, is based on the tender for the scheme accepted by the urban council.
