Vol. 466 No. 6

Written Answers. - Funding for County Cork School.

Ned O'Keeffe

Question:

98 Mr. E. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Education the plans, if any, she has to provide funding in respect of a school (details supplied) in County Cork; if so, when this funding will be provided; and if her attention has been drawn to the fact that failure to sanction this funding is seen as a very serious indictment by her Department of a village which is in a rural area in view of the fact that this matter has been ongoing for the past five years. [12028/96]

Contract documents are currently being prepared for the school referred to by the Deputy.

When the contract documents are ready a decision on the timing of the tender and contract processes will be made. While I am anxious to see the project proceed as quickly as possible I cannot give specific information on timescale and funding until the documentation is available.
