Written Answers. - AIDS Helpline Funding.

Liz O'Donnell

Question:

146 Ms O'Donnell asked the Minister for Health the plans, if any, he has to ensure that ongoing funding will be made available to AIDS Helpline in Dublin in order to maintain and improve the level of service which it provides to persons affected by HIV/AIDS, particularly in view of the fact that the Helpline will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 1997; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12690/96]

Limerick East): The Eastern Health Board, which has statutory responsibility for the provision of services for people with HIV/AIDS in the Dublin area, has received a request for funding from this group. The board is examining this request in the context of its overall plan for the provision of HIV/AIDS services and has, as yet, made no decision on the matter.
