Written Answers. - Grant Payment.

John Browne

Question:

274 Mr. Browne (Wexford) asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will make funding available to Wexford Community Services Council to enable it to extend its premises in order to cater for the increased numbers of elderly people attending; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12594/96]

Officials in my Department's regional office in Waterford inform me that they do not have any record of an application from Wexford community services council for funding towards the extension of their premises. The provision of social services for the elderly is specifically the responsibility of the health services.
