21 Ms O'Donnell asked the Minister for Education the further progress, if any, she has made in relation to the proposed legislation to initiate regional education boards; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [12678/96]
In March 1996, the Government authorised the drafting of a Bill which will provide, among other provisions, for the establishment of education boards. The draft scheme of a Bill was then referred to the Parliamentary Draftsman's Office where drafting of the Bill is proceeding. I hope to publish the Bill so that it can be considered at the next Dáil session.
