Written Answers. - Women's Prison.
With the approval of Government, I had work on the planning and design of this new prison re-commenced earlier this year.
Design work has reached an advanced stage. I hope to be in a position to initiate planning procedures under the relevant Local Government (Planning and Development) Regulations, 1994, in the near future. Until these procedures are completed, it is not possible to give definite dates for the commencement or completion of the project.
