182 Mr. Martin asked the Minister for Education the complaints, if any, she has received from students or schools regarding the quality of the recording used in the aural section of the 1996 French leaving certificate examination; if so, if she will investigate such complaints; and if she will make a statement on the matter. A small number of complaints have been received in my Department in regard to difficulties encountered in the running of the French aural test in the 1996 leaving certificate. These complaints are currently being investigated by my Department and have also been referred to the chief examiner in French so that account can be taken of the matter at the marking stage.
