Vol. 467 No. 4

Written Answers. - Student's Summer Jobs Scheme.

Hugh Byrne

Question:

224 Mr. H. Byrne asked the Minister for Social Welfare if his attention has been drawn to the fact that a person (details supplied) in County Wexford was refused for the students' summer job scheme; if his attention has further been drawn to the fact that he is continuing in third-level education; the reason he was refused for this scheme; whether she will reconsider this decision; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [13610/96]

The person concerned has now been approved for the students' summer jobs scheme and has been issued with a job certificate.

His application was refused initially because it was assumed, in error, that he had completed a course of study and was therefore not eligible for the scheme.
