Vol. 467 No. 6

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Frank Crowley

Question:

128 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a decision will be made regarding a person (details supplied) in County Cork who has been refused agricultural grants. [13861/96]

The applications under suckler cow and cattle headage schemes are under investigation at present and my Department has written to the applicant's accountants in May informing them of the up-to-date position. Difficulties arise in relation to the declaration of ineligible in-calf heifers under the suckler cow scheme and the question of residence under the cattle headage scheme.

It will not be possible to make payment under the schemes until the person in question satisfies the Department on these matters.
