109 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Health when his Department will sanction the replacement consulta paediatrician post at Longfor Westmeath General Hospital, Mullingar, County Westmeath; and if he will make a statement on the matter [14312/96]

Limerick East): Sanction for the replacement of a consultant paediat cian at Longford/Westmeath gene hospital, Mullingar, has recently issue to the chief executive officer of the M land Health Board. It is now a mat for the board and Comhairle na nOs déal, who have statutory responsibility in relation to consultant appointments, to proceed with the recruitment process in consultation with the Local Appointments Commission.
