Vol. 467 No. 7

Written Answers. - Hip Replacement Operation.

Frances Fitzgerald

Question:

110 Ms F. Fitzgerald asked the Minister for Health when a person (details supplied) in Dublin 2 will be called for a hip replacement operation at Cappagh Hospital in view of the fact that she has been waiting six to eight months. [14330/96]

Limerick East): I understand from Cappagh Hospital that the patient referred to by the Deputy was placed on the routine waiting list of a consultant in Cappagh Hospital on 2 April 1996 for a total hip replacement. The hospital cannot give an exact admission date at this stage but the waiting time for this particular consultant is usually six to nine months.
