Vol. 467 No. 7

Written Answers. - Counselling Services.

Eric J. Byrne

Question:

273 Mr. E. Byrne asked the Minister for Justice whether officials of her Department have provided the necessary information and counselling services to families (details supplied); and if she will make a statement on the matter. [14278/96]

The Deputy recently made representations on behalf of the persons referred to in this question and I have replied to these representations.

The families have now expressed an interest in meeting with me to discuss their concerns. While I am unable, due to extreme work commitments, to meet with the families at present. I have arranged for a senior official of my Department to meet with the families within the next few days. I do not want to add anything further at this stage so as not to pre-empt the outcome of the meeting.
