Vol. 468 No. 4

Written Answers. - Outstanding Payments.

Liam Aylward

Question:

211 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Health if he will have arrangements made for the immediate payment of all moneys due to a person (details supplied) in County Offaly. [15715/96]

Limerick East): In the first instance, matters relating to the day to day operations of health agencies, including cash management matters, are the immediate responsibility of the management of each agency. My Department operates monitoring systems on agencies compliance with cash and working capital issues generally. The outcome of this monitoring exercise indicates that the agencies are operating within their agreed credit and payment guidelines. The Deputy will understand that from time to time individual accounts may, for valid reasons, have items outstanding. I understand that the agency has now paid a substantial portion of the outstanding amount. The remaining balance, which is subject to certification, will be paid as soon as possible.
