Vol. 468 No. 4

Written Answers. - Ballymore (Westmeath) Submission.

Mary O'Rourke

Question:

617 Mrs. O'Rourke asked the Minister for Justice whether she has responded to a detailed submission made to her by a deputation of the community alert group from Ballymore, County Westmeath; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [15605/96]

Following a meeting on 3 April 1996, with representatives from the Ballymore Community Alert Group regarding the policing arrangements for the area, I requested that the issues raised by the group be brought to the attention of the Garda Commissioner for his consideration as he is responsible for the detailed allocation of Garda personnel and resources to individual areas. I have only recently received his report in the matter and I hope to be in a position to issue a response to the Ballymore community alert group shortly.
