Vol. 469 No. 1

Written Answers. - Ennis (Clare) Gaelscoil.

Tony Killeen

Question:

427 Mr. Killeen asked the Minister for Education the reason for the delay in commencing the new school building at Ennis Gaelscoil, County Clare. [16563/96]

I included the building of a new school for Ennis Gaelscoil in my Department's Capital Programme for 1995. The decision to include the school in the programme must be seen as the beginning of a process involving preparation of sketch design drawings, planning permission and fire certificate, contract documentation, tender and contract.

The current position on the project is that the contract documentation is being finalised. A decision on the timing of the tender process will be taken in the light of available financial resources. The school will be kept informed of progress.
