Noel Davern

Question:

102 Mr. Davern asked the Minister for Education when the extension for Ballyclerihan national school, County Tipperary will go to tender; and if it is intended to add one room for teacher and pupil use. [17039/96]

My department has approved grant aid towards the cost of a single classroom extension at Ballyclerihan national school, County Tipperary.

My Department's architectural staff have commenced the necessary architectural planning for the project. At this stage, I am not in a position to say when the project might proceed to tender.

Question:

103 Mr. Davern asked the Minister for Education when the extension required at the High School, Clonmel, County Tipperary will go to tender; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [17040/96]

The planning and building unit of my Department is examining the detail design stage for the proposed extension and will be in contact with the school authorities in the near future regarding the preparation of the bill of quantities.

At this stage of architectural planning it is not possible to indicate when the project will proceed to tender stage. However, every effort will be made to advance the project through the remaining stages of planning to enable tenders to be sought as soon as possible.
