Cecilia Keaveney

Question:

120 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for the Environment the number of applications that were received for the new house grant in each of the years from 1994 to 1996 on a county basis; the percentage of these applications which were refused; and the grounds for such refusals. [17676/96]

The records routinely kept in relation to new house grant activity do not facilitate the compilation of data on the reasons for grant refusals. It would not be practicable, therefore, having regard to the time available and the inordinate commitment of staff time and resources that would be involved, to provide this information.

The numbers of new house grant applications received in 1994, 1995 and 1996 are as follows:
